Account Manager

The primary role of the Client Accountant is to manage the client relationship, being the single point of contact for all assigned clients. Success in the role is measured across a range of metrics but client satisfaction is key.

Any salary review/bonus will be based on performance of the below:

Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly management accounts (where required)
Completion of balance sheet reconciliations (in line with defined requirements dependant on size of client)
Preparing statutory filings with working papers including statutory accounts and CT600 returns
Preparing VAT returns (reconciled to balance sheet)
Completion of annual self assessments
Review bookkeeping completed by trainee accountants
Manage and prioritise workloads for trainee accountants
Deal with client queries in a timely manner
Implement process/procedure improvements alongside the Senior Accountant
Ensuring all deadlines set are met without exception- as per Senta deadlines
Ensure Senta is kept upto date on a weekly basis
One off accounting jobs and submissions

Skills Required

Excellent client relationship management and communication skills
Ability to hit deadlines and prioritise tasks
Ability to work under pressure at busy times
Good technical knowledge of accounting standards and the application of these standards
Good technical knowledge of basic tax and VAT rules
Ability to thrive working in a close team environment

Experience

Staff supervision
Xero knowledge
Preparation of statutory accounts and subsequent working papers
Client relationship management
Practice experience preferred but not essential

Education

Qualified Accountant – AAT
Or qualified by experience
