The primary role of the senior accountant it to review work produced by the accountant before submissions.
Success in the role is primarily measured by the submission of timely, accurate information to all stakeholders
Responsibilities
Technical support to Account managers
Review all work prepared by account manager, ensuring work submitted is 100% accurate
To ensure deadlines are adhered to (with the use of our CRM software and Inform Direct)
Ensure Senta is fully utilised and updated by account managers
Deal with client complaints/tricky conversations alongside the director
Implement process/procedure improvements along side the director
Account manage a couple of larger clients of your own
One off accounting jobs and submissions
Set improvement targets for account manager
Ad hoc/project work with the director
Skills Required
Excellent ability to review work, spot mistakes and advice the client accountants on how to rectify those
Good client relationship management
Ability to hit deadlines and ensure client accountants hit their deadlines
Ability to work under pressure at busy times
Technically excellent in terms of accounting standards and the application of these standards
Ability to thrive working in a close team environment
Experience
Staff management
Xero knowledge
Reviewing of statutory accounts and subsequent working paper review – essential
Client relationship management
Practice experience preferred but not essential
Education
Qualified Accountant – ACCA/ACA/CIMA
Or in some circumstance, qualified by experience
